"The art of making a great wine lies in the passion and joy of creating something unique." - Roman Roth
“Roman Roth has attempted to pull out all the stops in crafting a couple of hundred cases of his own brand. The results are of a sort guaranteed to bring down the house at blind tastings, but it would be a shame not to set some aside in one’s cellar as well to await the verdict of time. Consumers who fail to fill up Mr. Roth’s answering machine should recall that they were warned here first.” - David Schildknecht, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, July 2006

The nose is filled with lush aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and figs, it is complemented by some cedar and nutty toasty ness.
The mouth-feel is concentrated cassis with dried fruit characters, espresso roast and lush dark chocolate going seamlessly into a big finish filled with fine mocha, toasty oak and wonderfully underlying minerality that keeps going and going.

Why the heck don’t you make Riesling?! This was one of the most asked questions since arriving on Long Island in 1992. Growing up in Germany and being a firm believer and advocate of cool climate wines I was finally able to respond in 2007 which was one of the best growing seasons ever on Long Island and that is just what it takes to make a great Riesling.
Riesling and Merlot are New York’s signature varieties and I have put all my effort into this to set quality expectations to new heights.
